Although I was born and raised inland, I have always felt drawn to the sea. I paint to capture a mood or a scene and to convey my love of these special places and feelings.
Biography: I am a visual artist working primarily in acrylics or watercolor. I have no formal art education, but have been creating artwork in one form or another all of my life. I love to experiment and have painted on objects as diverse as satellite dishes, eggshells and mailboxes. I was born and raised inland, far from the sea, but my heart has always drawn me to the beach and the water. I have had the good fortune of traveling throughout the continental US and Canada plus Hawaii, Mexico, 4 European countries, and numerous Caribbean islands. I always return to my greatest love – the Gulf Coast of Florida. I have lived many places along this stretch of Paradise – from Pensacola to Key Largo. I paint to capture a mood or a scene and to convey my love of these special places and feelings. In addition to painting, I love to photograph the ocean and tropical beaches. My photographs have been sold through stock photo agencies, and I travel frequently with camera in hand. Recently, I have begun writing stories for publication in magazines and journals. I also paint pictures from photographs – my own and some submitted to me – if the subject interests me and I feel I can do it justice. The person providing the photograph is given the right of first refusal to the original painting before it is offered to the general public. Prints are also available for purchase.
